February Sock and Other Stuff

Well I finished the February socks with 1 day to spare! Originally I wanted February to be the Fiber Festival Socks by the Tsock Tsarina but unforunately loop stitch and I had a disagreement. I opted to put those off till at least this month and knit a pair of vanille socks instead in a lovely striped sock yarn given to me by a lovely friend almost 2 years ago. I haven't taken a picture just yet...they're at the bottom of the laundry basket ready for washing and blocking at the moment.

I have yet to start March sock stuff yet. I'm focusing on the sleeves for my hubby's sweater that was supposed to be a xmas present. But if he hadn't complained that the sleeves were too tight for his comfort, I wouldn't have had to rip both sleeves back practically to the underarms and redo them. *sigh* I am almost finished one sleeve again. DH has tried it on and it is now acceptable.

On another note...March is the month of Sampras!

And speaking of months...thanks to my unorganizedness I start my count for at least one blog post every month yet again.

The January Sock

One pair of socks a month has begun! I finished my first pair of socks and they count towards finishing my WIPs! I started this pair of socks at the end of last year but didn't get past knitting each leg as I knit them two at a time. I knit them in Madelintosh in the delicious colourway Crumble. The pattern is Through The Loops Mystery Sock 2010:

Coming up in February: Fiber Festival by Tsarina of Tsocks!

Lost Lost Lost

I just about finished all the Christmas knitting I had planned. I do have to rip out the sleeves of the Hamilton Tigers sweater so I haven't marked that as complete. The sleeves were a bit tight. I didn't do the gnome gloves I was planning for my MIL because it was cutting it too close but I will make her those gloves eventually....maybe this year. I have the pattern bought and all.
After Christmas day I had to get back to the knitting for those we were seeing on New Years. I managed to get the hat and backpack done and they were well received. I was super pleased with how the backpack came out.

The Bowser Backpack!
Last year I was talking to the recipient of this lovely bag about baby knits. Hubby thinks that the baby link outfit is a little ridiculous but would approve of a baby mario outfit...go figure! Anyways, during the conversation she mentioned that she thought a bowser backpack would be awesome. I tucked that away in the back of my mind and when I got home I started writing down my ideas. I searched patterns and didn't find one. It kept getting put aside for other projects for a while but I finally finished it. Of course now that I would like to write up the pattern in case anyone else is ever looking for a bowser backpack I CAN'T FIND THE NOTE BOOK! :S *sigh*. I had other lists, knitting ideas and various notes in that book and its gone. I've looked all over the house. I'm still in the middle of cleaning my yarn room. My dad dropped off a huge amount of stuff that I still had at my parents house and I've been trying to get through it all. I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff. I'm still a little hopeful that book is going to show up but I can't imagine where. My last idea is that our ghost, Lenore has taken it and will reveal it when she feels like it. If she doesn't, I guess I remember how to do most of the bag so I should be able to recreate it. I'm giving it until the yarn room is clean.
